GTA 6 Criminal Profile Explained: Professional, Psycho, and the Shattered State
Preview visitors now name four Criminal Profile states plus a lock you cannot undo. This is not Red Dead honor, and it is not a Newswire. Here is the TGG and IGN report.
The August leak-week 'honor system' debate just got a name. Visitors who sat with Rockstar North around the Extended Look say Grand Theft Auto VI tracks a Criminal Profile - how Jason and Lucia do crime, not whether they are good people.
TGG's recap, which PC Gamer published on September 7, lists four main states: Professional, Aggressive, Violent, and Psycho. There is also a fifth 'shattered' lock where the meter cracks and cannot be walked back. IGN's Rockstar HQ notes already described the same idea without those labels: behavior can shift how the world treats you, and mission-forced violence does not automatically stain the profile.
That is a different sentence from Red Dead Redemption 2's honor bar. Arthur Morgan had a saint-to-outlaw slider. Leonida, as reported, grades criminal style. Stay Professional by showing restraint. Slide toward Psycho by making unnecessary corpses. Rockstar, in those same accounts, does not want you grinding a 'better' reputation to progress the campaign.
Jason and Lucia can sit in different states. Notifications can be turned off. What still is not public is the ending math: different finales, slightly different NPC greetings, or both. Co-studio head Rob Nelson has been quoted saying you will notice the effects of your actions. He has not published a flowchart.
This site's earlier honor-glyph piece treated a devil-minus icon in unofficial footage as a leak interpretation. The preview visits are a stronger tier. They are still visitor notes, not a Rockstar Newswire titled 'Criminal Profile.' Until that post exists, treat the named states as the best reported map of a system that looks real enough to plan around - and unfinished enough that November can still rename every pip.

The five states as visitors describe them
Professional is the restraint lane: do the score, do not paint the store. Aggressive and Violent are the middle rungs visitors describe as escalating chaos without a morality sermon. Psycho is the loud end. Shattered is the lock - TGG's impression is that it exists for players who have made it obvious they do not want to play the system at all.
- Four main states: Professional, Aggressive, Violent, Psycho, per TGG as reported by PC Gamer.
- Shattered: a cracked, irreversible lock for that playthrough.
- Jason and Lucia can hold different profiles at the same time.
- HUD nags can be disabled; the profile itself is not described as optional.
Why this is not Red Dead honor
Honor in Red Dead scored kindness and cruelty on a single good-versus-bad line. Criminal Profile, in IGN's HQ write-up, has no clear 'right' way to live. Robbing a store cleanly can keep you Professional. The same robbery as a massacre is the stain. Mission-scripted aggression is reported as exempt so the story does not punish you for a cutscene Rockstar wrote.
Throwing away trash and other 'good citizen' beats are also in IGN's notes as profile inputs. That is flavor, not a church route. Do not build a paladin Jason guide from a dumpster.
What it might change, still unlabeled
Free-roam reactions and how the main story plays out are the two effects IGN listed. TGG and PC Gamer both flag the missing piece: different endings versus texture. Dual protagonists make the interesting case - a Professional Jason next to a Psycho Lucia is a couple the game can comment on without a shared meter.
Police Heat, wanted stars, and this profile are adjacent systems. Do not merge them. Heat is what cops know about this crime. Profile is what kind of criminal you have been for hours.
What would upgrade this from reported to listed
- A Rockstar or Take-Two post that names Criminal Profile and the states.
- Review-code reporting from multiple outlets that matches the TGG list.
- Pause-menu screenshots in official media that show the same labels.
- Not enough: a Discord graphic with five devil faces and no source.
How to play the rumor until November 19
If you want the Professional fantasy, plan robberies like the HQ demo: knock out, do not execute; smash the camera; leave before the perimeter closes. If you want chaos, shattered is described as available, not as a secret ending Rockstar is hiding.
This page replaces the leak-only honor guess, not the need for review code. November 19 will show whether the states survive, get renamed, or stay a visitor notebook.
Visible systems versus inferred mechanics
For “GTA 6 Criminal Profile Explained: Professional, Psycho, and the Shattered State,” describe actions clearly shown on screen or systems Rockstar has explicitly written about. Inferred RPG meters, unstated skill trees, or transplanted GTA Online rules need a separate evidence bar.
Summarize only what this piece actually establishes from visible footage or official text. Everything else is hypothesis and should read like hypothesis.
Combat and crime scenes in footage
Crime and combat moments connected to “GTA 6 Criminal Profile Explained: Professional, Psycho, and the Shattered State” can establish tone, weapon feel, and crowd reaction without defining final balance, cover systems, or wanted-level math.
Do not upgrade a two-second shootout into a full stealth manifesto. Clip length and editing intent matter as much as muzzle flash.
Exploration and downtime
Trailers and screenshots that show beaches, clubs, roads, and wildlife imply downtime space inside Leonida. Implication is not a checklist of minigames. Wait for Rockstar to enumerate activities before publishing completionist guides.
Exploration talk related to “GTA 6 Criminal Profile Explained: Professional, Psycho, and the Shattered State” should stay tied to visible geography and official region names rather than leaked collectible spreadsheets.
Multiplayer remains a separate product question
Nothing in “GTA 6 Criminal Profile Explained: Professional, Psycho, and the Shattered State” should quietly merge the authored November 19 console campaign with an undated online service. Rockstar has not announced a GTA VI Online launch date alongside the single-player street date.
Grand Theft Auto VI remains scheduled for November 19, 2026 on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S unless a newer Rockstar or Take-Two update supersedes that plan. Multiplayer features glimpsed in marketing satire or historical series habits are not day-one promises. Keep Online in its own evidence column until Rockstar opens that product conversation explicitly.
