Description
Body Armor is the single most important piece of defensive equipment in GTA VI, providing a crucial damage buffer during shootouts, heists, and police chases across Leonida. Available in multiple tiers from basic soft vests to heavy tactical plates, armor determines how many bullets you can absorb before health starts draining. For anyone planning a serious score in Vice City, shopping for armor is the first stop before the ammo counter.
Design
The standard model resembles a concealable soft-armor vest worn under clothing, while higher tiers feature visible tactical plate carriers with MOLLE webbing and magazine pouches. The heavy variant adds shoulder guards and a high-collar neck protector with a distinctly military-surplus aesthetic.
Performance
Body armor absorbs incoming bullet, explosive, and melee damage until its durability is depleted, at which point it breaks and must be replaced. Higher-tier vests absorb significantly more damage but may reduce sprint speed and agility. Armor does not regenerate - once it's gone, you need a new vest.
Customization
N/A - tiered purchase system replaces customization; higher cost equals more protection.
Locations
Sold at every Ammu-Nation location in Leonida, dropped by heavily armed enemies and LSPD tactical units, and stocked in heist-prep safehouses before major score missions.
Trivia
- GTA VI is expected to feature at least three armor tiers, a significant expansion from GTA V's single-tier system.
- Visible armor on character models may change appearance based on the tier equipped - a first for the series.
- In GTA V, body armor could be stacked up to five times; GTA VI may adopt a single-vest system with higher durability values instead.
- Armor pickups scattered in police stations and military checkpoints offer free high-tier vests for daring thieves.
