Combat MG (Heavy MG)

The Combat MG is Leonida's answer to overwhelming odds - a belt-fed beast that turns any shootout into a one-sided massacre. Classified under SMGs for gameplay convenience, this is a full light machine gun designed for sustained suppressive fire against waves of enemies, police helicopters, and armored convoys. When Jason and Lucia need to hold a position during a heist extraction or level a cartel compound, the Combat MG is the tool that makes it possible.

Heavily inspired by the FN M249 SAW, the Combat MG features a gas-operated rotating bolt, a quick-change barrel system, and a distinctive box magazine that hangs beneath the receiver. The in-game model includes a carry handle, a folding bipod for prone shooting, and heat shield vents along the barrel. Leonida variants can be found with jungle-pattern camo, desert tan finishes, and military surplus markings from the fictional Fort Leonida army base.

The Combat MG delivers devastating sustained damage with its 100-round belt, capable of shredding vehicle armor and suppressing entire squads. However, it comes with severe mobility penalties - movement speed drops significantly while equipped, and aim-down-sight time is the slowest of any portable weapon. Recoil is heavy but predictable in a consistent upward climb, and accuracy improves dramatically when firing from a stationary crouched position.

Upgrades include an extended 200-round box magazine for prolonged engagements, a holographic sight for faster target acquisition, and a heavy barrel that improves accuracy at the cost of added weight. Cosmetic options include military OD green, Leonida Militia woodland camo, and a chrome 'Vice Warlord' finish available from black-market arms dealers.

Only available late in the story after completing a major heist or military-adjacent mission. Can be purchased at select Ammu-Nation stores in Vice City's industrial district. Also found mounted on certain vehicles and obtainable by eliminating National Guard units during 5-star wanted levels near Fort Leonida.
