Description
The Flashlight is a basic illumination tool essential for navigating GTA VI's dark interiors, underground tunnels, and nighttime operations across Leonida. With the game's enhanced lighting system rendering unlit spaces genuinely dark, the flashlight becomes a practical necessity rather than a novelty. It's also the entry-level weapon attachment for rifles and pistols, serving double duty as both a handheld tool and a tactical accessory.
Design
A standard cylindrical aluminum flashlight with a rubberized grip, a push-button tail switch, and a focused LED beam. The compact size allows one-handed use alongside a sidearm. A tactical variant with a Picatinny rail mount exists for attaching to weapon accessory slots.
Performance
The flashlight illuminates a focused cone ahead of the player, revealing details in dark environments that would otherwise be invisible. As a handheld item, it occupies the weapon slot - meaning you can't hold both a flashlight and a two-handed weapon simultaneously. As a weapon attachment, it adds illumination without sacrificing a hand.
Customization
N/A - available as both a handheld item and a weapon rail attachment.
Locations
Found at convenience stores, hardware shops, and gas stations across Leonida, sold cheaply at Ammu-Nation, and commonly found in desk drawers, glove compartments, and utility closets during interior exploration.
Trivia
- GTA VI's dynamic lighting system makes the flashlight genuinely necessary - previous GTA games had ambient light that made dark areas navigable without one.
- The weapon-mounted flashlight variant can temporarily blind NPCs when aimed directly at their faces at close range.
- Flashlights in the Everglades are essential for navigating swamp caves and abandoned structures that have no ambient light sources.
- The flashlight beam is visible to other players in GTA Online VI, making it a tactical consideration during nighttime PvP encounters.
