Description

Food and Drinks represent Leonida's vast culinary landscape, from greasy Burger Shot combos to upscale Vice City sushi rolls. In GTA VI, eating and drinking restores health and may influence stamina, making these consumables a cheap alternative to medical items. The variety of food options also serves as world-building - every taco stand, food truck, and beachside café adds to the living, breathing feel of the game world.

Design

Food items range from recognizable fast-food containers (Burger Shot bags, Cluckin' Bell boxes) to street vendor plates and restaurant dishes. Drinks include bottled water, energy drinks, coffee cups, and alcoholic beverages. Each item has a unique consumption animation that adds to the roleplay immersion.

Performance

Consuming food and drinks restores a small-to-moderate amount of health over a brief period, with different items offering varying recovery amounts. Fast food provides quick boosts while sit-down restaurant meals offer larger recovery with longer consumption times. Some food items may also restore stamina or provide temporary buffs.

Customization

N/A - a wide variety of food types serve as the customization equivalent.

Locations

Available everywhere across Leonida - fast food chains like Burger Shot and Cluckin' Bell, convenience stores, vending machines, food trucks on Vice Beach, taco stands in Little Haiti, restaurants in Star Junction, and gas station snack aisles throughout rural Leonida.

Trivia

  • GTA VI features the most diverse food selection in series history, with regional Leonida specialties like Cuban sandwiches and key lime pie.
  • Eating at sit-down restaurants may trigger unique NPC interactions and conversations that provide world-building context.
  • Overconsuming food in a short period may trigger a 'full' debuff that temporarily slows the character - a nod to Red Dead Redemption 2's weight system.
  • Food truck vendors across Vice Beach offer rotating daily specials that change with the in-game clock.
