Description
The Heavy Pistol is Vice City's answer to the question nobody asked but everybody needed: what if your sidearm hit like a freight train? Built on the legendary M1911 platform that has been dropping bodies since before your grandparents were born, this .45 ACP beast trades the nimble handling of lighter pistols for raw stopping power. In the lawless sprawl of Leonida, where body armor is as common as fake tans, the Heavy Pistol's ability to punch through resistance makes it a favorite among seasoned criminals and private security alike. It's the kind of gun that ends arguments before they start.
Design
The Heavy Pistol features a full-size steel frame with aggressive front and rear slide serrations, a beavertail grip safety, and a skeletonized trigger that screams tactical precision. The in-game model showcases a brushed stainless finish by default, with optional blued and two-tone variants available at Ammu-Nation. The weapon's heft is visible in the character animations - Jason and Lucia both handle it with a noticeably firmer two-handed grip compared to lighter pistols.
Performance
Where the Heavy Pistol shines is raw damage per shot - it hits significantly harder than the Girardi ES9 or Standard Pistol, making it capable of two-to-three shot kills on unarmored targets. The trade-off comes in recoil and fire rate; the .45 ACP round kicks harder, requiring a brief reset between shots for accurate follow-ups. Range is respectable for a handgun, and the heavy slide helps tame muzzle flip during rapid fire, though it's still no match for the surgical precision of a revolver.
Customization
Ammu-Nation stocks barrel upgrades that improve range and reduce muzzle flash, along with custom grip panels in wood, rubber, and G10 composite. Weapon skins range from tactical matte black to flashy Vice City gold plating. The extended magazine doubles capacity to 36 rounds, transforming it from a precision sidearm into a high-damage bullet hose.
Locations
The Heavy Pistol becomes available at Ammu-Nation stores in Vice City and Port Gellhorn after completing the early opening missions. It can also occasionally be picked up from downed private security guards in the Downtown and Star Junction districts.
