Description

The Micro SMG is Vice City chaos in pocket form - a tiny, screaming Mini Uzi-inspired machine pistol that turns car chases and alley fights into lead storms. In GTA VI it fills the classic Rockstar role of the affordable spray-and-pray sidearm that anyone can buy and almost nobody can fully control. Wild recoil and a short sight radius punish spray at distance, but inside a vehicle window or a cramped stairwell it shreds. Pre-order players get a Tommy Vercetti signature skin that ties the weapon straight back to Vice City's criminal mythology - a neon-era flex on a modern Leonida streetside.

Design

Compact and boxy like a Mini Uzi, the Micro SMG features a short barrel, a folding or collapsing stock (often left folded for drive-bys), and a grip that sits high in the hand for one-handed fire from vehicles. The in-game model emphasizes its pocketable size relative to full SMGs like the HK - characters draw it fast and fire it from the hip with exaggerated muzzle climb. Skins range from matte street black to chrome, pastel Vice finishes, and the exclusive Tommy Vercetti pre-order livery with era-appropriate flair.

Performance

Fire rate is blistering and damage-per-second at point-blank is excellent against unarmored targets, but accuracy collapses past short range and recoil climbs hard on full-auto. Magazine capacity starts low at 16 rounds, so extended mags or a drum are almost mandatory for prolonged fights. Ideal for passenger-side drive-bys, apartment hallways, and panic situations where volume of fire matters more than precision.

Customization

Ammu-Nation upgrades include extended magazines, a high-capacity drum when available, and a wide catalog of cosmetic skins - including the Tommy Vercetti pre-order exclusive. Attachment support is lighter than full-size SMGs: limited optics, optional suppressor on some variants, and grip wraps. The focus is personality and capacity rather than marksman modularity.

Locations

Expected early at Ammu-Nation across Vice City, making it one of the first automatic options after opening story missions. Frequently looted from street-level gang members, found in vehicle glove boxes during chase missions, and stocked by underground dealers in Overtown and South Beach. The Tommy Vercetti skin unlocks via pre-order bonus and appears in the weapon wheel once the base Micro SMG is owned.

Trivia

  • The Micro SMG continues the franchise tradition of a Mini Uzi-style pocket automatic dating back through multiple GTA titles.
  • The Tommy Vercetti signature skin is one of the few pre-order cosmetics that directly references a classic GTA protagonist.
  • It is among the cheapest automatic weapons in Leonida at roughly $850, making it a favorite of early-game hustlers.
  • Hip-fire from a moving vehicle is where the Micro SMG shines - ADS accuracy is intentionally poor to reinforce its spray identity.
  • Drum magazine reloads show a distinctive bulky insert animation that briefly slows movement while the mag seats.
