Description

The RPG is the undisputed king of vehicular destruction in GTA VI, a shoulder-fired rocket launcher that reduces armored trucks, police helicopters, and roadblocks to flaming wreckage with a single well-aimed shot. In Leonida's criminal underworld, possession of an RPG signals that a crew has graduated from petty theft to serious organized crime. When the VCPD rolls out armored response units or a rival cartel sends a convoy, the RPG is the great equalizer.

Design

Styled after the iconic Soviet RPG-7, the launcher features a distinctive flared muzzle, a wooden heat shield around the barrel, and an oversized PG-7 style warhead that protrudes menacingly from the front. Cosmetic finish options include matte black, olive drab, and a Vice City custom paint job with tropical accents - because even rocket launchers deserve flair in Leonida.

Performance

A direct hit from the RPG will destroy any standard vehicle instantly and deal catastrophic damage to armored targets. The rocket travels in a straight line with slight drop at extreme range, making it effective against both ground vehicles and low-flying aircraft. The critical weakness is the single-shot capacity and painfully slow reload - missing your shot in a heated firefight can be fatal.

Customization

Cosmetic finish options allow players to personalize the launcher's appearance, though functional modifications are limited by the weapon's simple design. Rocket types may include standard HE, thermobaric for enhanced blast radius, and armor-piercing variants for hardened targets.

Locations

Available from Ammu-Nation's restricted inventory after completing a major heist, or sourced through underground arms dealers in Vice City's port district. Occasionally found in military installations during late-game missions.

Trivia

  • The RPG's back-blast effect can injure the player if fired with a wall directly behind them.
  • Shooting down 5 police helicopters with the RPG unlocks the 'Vice City Anti-Air' achievement.
  • Each rocket costs nearly as much as some handguns, making it the most expensive per-shot weapon in the game.
  • The RPG cannot be concealed and will always be visible on the player character's back when equipped.
  • A surfboard-strapped variant was teased in a social media post, suggesting possible cosmetic DLC.
