Description
The Speargun is GTA VI's dedicated aquatic combat weapon, confirming that Leonida's coastline, coral reefs, and underwater shipwrecks are more than just scenery - they're active combat zones. In a state surrounded by warm Caribbean waters, the Speargun enables silent kills against divers, underwater sentries, and marine life during smuggling runs and salvage missions. It bridges the gap between sport fishing and wetwork.
Design
A pneumatic speargun with a sleek aluminum barrel, rubber-band propulsion system, and a loaded steel-tipped spear visible at the front. The design evokes high-end diving equipment from Vice City's upscale marina shops, with anodized blue or silver finishes. Underwater, the weapon is held in a one-handed grip that allows for swimming mobility.
Performance
Underwater, the Speargun is lethal - a single spear can dispatch most targets silently and efficiently. On land, however, the spear's trajectory drops sharply and damage is mediocre compared to conventional firearms. Reload is slow, requiring the player to manually load a new spear after each shot, making it a poor choice for sustained combat in any environment.
Customization
Spear tips may include standard steel points, barbed tips for increased bleed damage, and explosive-tipped spears for anti-vehicle underwater work. A mounted flashlight attachment improves visibility in deep or murky waters around the Leonida coast.
