Description

The Taser is a non-lethal electroshock weapon that drops targets with a single zap, making it the ideal tool for stealth takedowns, law-enforcement roleplay, and crowd control without the mess of lethal weapons. In GTA VI's Leonida, the taser bridges the gap between melee and firearms - offering ranged incapacitation without attracting the same heat level as gunfire.

Design

A bright yellow and black handheld electroshock device modeled after real-world conducted energy weapons. Two barbed probes deploy on thin wires when fired, delivering an incapacitating electrical charge. The device features a built-in laser sight and a safety switch to prevent accidental discharge.

Performance

The taser fires two probes at short-to-medium range that instantly incapacitate the target on contact, causing them to collapse in a convulsing ragdoll state for several seconds. It has very limited ammunition - typically one to two cartridges before requiring a reload or recharge. Ineffective against armored targets or vehicles.

Customization

N/A - a fixed-design non-lethal weapon.

Locations

Acquired from law enforcement supply vendors, occasionally dropped by police officers and security guards when incapacitated, sold at select Ammu-Nation locations under the tactical gear section, and provided during certain stealth-focused missions.

Trivia

  • The taser first appeared as a usable weapon in GTA V, wielded exclusively by police - GTA VI makes it available for player purchase.
  • Tasing someone near water may trigger unique electrocution interactions due to GTA VI's enhanced physics system.
  • Using the taser during robberies instead of firearms may contribute to a 'non-lethal' mission bonus that reduces wanted-level escalation.
  • The taser is one of the few ranged weapons that doesn't immediately trigger a lethal-force police response when used in public.
