Description

Wine is a luxury consumable in GTA VI that bridges the gap between Vice City's high-society social scene and its criminal underbelly. Available at upscale restaurants, liquor stores, and private parties, wine serves as both a minor health item and a social prop during story interactions. Sharing a bottle at a penthouse dinner or cracking one open at a safehouse adds a layer of lifestyle simulation to the GTA experience.

Design

Glass wine bottles with labels from fictional Leonida vineyards and imported brands, featuring satirical vineyard names and pretentious tasting notes. Red, white, and rosé varieties are expected, each with distinct bottle shapes and label art. The character pours or drinks directly from the bottle depending on context.

Performance

Wine provides a very small health restoration along with a brief screen-blur intoxication effect if consumed rapidly. It's less effective than dedicated healing items but adds roleplay value during social scenarios. Overconsumption impairs aim, driving, and movement - making it a risky item to use before combat or getaway driving.

Customization

N/A - variety of fictional brands and vintages serve as the selection.

Locations

Sold at liquor stores and wine shops across Vice City, served at upscale restaurants in Star Junction and Vice Keys, available at nightclub VIP bars, and found in the kitchens and wine cellars of wealthy NPCs' mansions during home invasion missions.

Trivia

  • GTA VI's liquor store robberies may feature wine bottles as throwable weapons in a pinch, shattering on impact for minimal damage.
  • Drinking wine at certain story locations may trigger unique character conversations and relationship-building moments between Jason and Lucia.
  • The fictional Leonida wine industry is a parody of Florida's real but modest wine scene, with labels referencing 'sun-ripened swamp grapes' and similar satire.
  • Overconsumption of wine triggers the same drunk-driving mechanics as other alcohol, complete with impaired steering and slurred character dialogue.
  • Wine bottles left at crime scenes may serve as forensic evidence in GTA VI's enhanced law enforcement systems.
