Summary
Population and AI pack that fills Grassrivers, the Keys, and coastal roads with reactive wildlife - atmospheric, not a hunting sim.
This package is authored for Grand Theft Auto VI only. It is not a GTA V conversion, does not install into GTAV directories, and will not run before the official Leonida PC release.
Highlights
- Wetland bird flocks and gator zones
- Roadkill avoidance AI for animals
- Night insect beds and audio
- Photo mode wildlife attractors
Requirements
- GTA VI PC
- SSD recommended
- 8 GB VRAM ideal
Overview
Leonida Fauna densifies GTA VI's natural spaces with authored wildlife populations. Grassrivers gets wading birds, gators on banks, and insect clouds at dusk. The Keys gain pelicans, ray silhouettes in shallows, and raccoons near marina trash. Highways pick up deer-adjacent lore animals that bolt from headlights.
The pack prioritizes atmosphere and reactivity over hunting mechanics. Animals flee gunfire, scatter from supercars, and investigate discarded food props. A photo attractor item quietly increases spawn weight in a radius for creators.
Ecosystems
Four biomes: Wetland, Keys Shore, Coastal Highway, and Urban Fringe. Each has day/night tables and weather modifiers - storms push birds low; heat keeps mammals in shade. Urban Fringe keeps wildlife subtle so Vice City density stays readable.
Gator zones are marked on the pause map as optional icons. Entering water in those radii has consequences; a settings slider can turn gators decorative-only.
AI & Performance
Animals use lightweight steering with LOD swaps. Distant flocks are impostors; close birds are skinned meshes. A hard cap prevents CPU spikes during downtown sessions - fauna density auto-throttles near heavy NPC traffic.
Road animals predict vehicle paths and try to clear; if you floor it anyway, the pack plays a grim one-shot audio sting and a temporary conscience bark from your protagonist.
Audio Ecology
Night insect beds crossfade by district humidity. Dawn choruses differ between Grassrivers and Kalaga treelines. Underwater near Keys shores, you hear muffled clicks and wash - subtle, mix-friendly, and duckable under radio.
Photo & Film Tools
The attractor prop, frozen-flock pause for photo mode, and a "golden bird light" filter ship for content creators. None of these alter story saves. Film tools disable when a mission script locks the world.
Installation
Install like other world packs; enable the fauna stream budget in the verifier. Incompatible with total animal replacers that occupy the same archetype names. Compatible with Vice Storm Engine - animals seek shelter in peak storms.
Tone & Ethics
EvergladeStudio avoids graphic gore toggles by default. Optional realism packs may appear later as separate downloads. The goal is living Leonida, not shock content.
In-World Flavor
Radio callers complain about "tourist-fed gators." A Keys NPC sells fake chum that slightly boosts shore spawns. None of this is required - it is texture for players who poke at the edges.
Biome Authorship Notes
Wetland bird takeoff curves were motion-captured from reference plates, then exaggerated 10% so they read at driving speed. Gator idle AI includes a sunning state and a slip-into-water state; the decorative-only slider removes bite triggers but keeps the sunning theater.
Highway animals use headlight cones as fear volumes. At night with high beams, you will see more clear-offs - dim beams for cinematic road shots if you want animals in frame longer.
Creator Playbook
Place the attractor near reeds at golden hour, freeze flock in photo mode, shoot, unfreeze. Do not leave attractors in mission-critical alleys; density throttle may steal CPU from chase scripts. Storms with Vice Storm Engine shelve most birds - shoot before peak cells.
Species Index
Wetland: waders, gators, dragonfly impostors. Keys: pelicans, shore crabs as ground dress, ray silhouettes. Highway: lore deer-analog, night owls as audio-only. Urban fringe: raccoons, sparrows, the occasional loose dog that already exists in stock - we only densify, we do not replace Rockstar pets.
Hunting systems are out of scope forever unless Rockstar ships one and asks creators to extend it - even then we would split a separate pack.
Performance Cookbook
If CPU spikes in Grassrivers, lower flock impostor distance. If gators pop in late, raise bank LOD. If insects shimmer oddly with Storm Engine, disable insect beds during peak precip - the toggle exists for a reason.
