Wanted: Infinity

Six stars was a suggestion - dynamic heat, federal tiers, and escape routes that matter.

HeatMapCollective · v1.3.0-pre · 120 MB

Summary

Rebuilds GTA VI's wanted escalation with district heat maps, federal intercept tiers, and meaningful cooldown geography across Leonida.

This package is authored for Grand Theft Auto VI only. It is not a GTA V conversion, does not install into GTAV directories, and will not run before the official Leonida PC release.

Highlights

  • District heat persistence
  • Federal tier beyond local PD
  • Safehouse cooldown logic
  • Hooks for power & vehicle mods

Requirements

  • GTA VI PC
  • Script Hook VI

Overview

Wanted: Infinity expands GTA VI police response into a living heat map. Commit chaos in Vice City and the district remembers for in-game hours. Slip to the Keys and local units pick you up colder - unless federal tier has already been tripped.

The mod keeps Rockstar's readable star UI but adds a heat ribbon and radio chatter that tell you which net is closing: municipal, state, or federal.

Response Tiers

Municipal handles petty heat. State brings highway interceptors and better air. Federal unlocks after mass casualty thresholds, attacks on infrastructure, or repeated high-star escapes - then you see unmarked units, coastal drones, and dock lockdowns in Port Gellhorn.

Escaping federal heat means geography: tunnels, freight yards, mangrove blind spots, and certain story safehouses that scrub a percentage of heat over time.

Escape Geography

Each district has authored escape vectors. Vice City rooftops help against ground units but paint you for air. Ambrosia fields break line of sight but invite dirt-bike troopers. Keys water escapes work until coastal drones spin up.

A training pamphlet in the pause menu diagrams these vectors without spoiling story locations.

Mod Hooks

Solar Ascendant flight raises air response sooner. Neon Drift Suite's public street shows can spike municipal heat if you near-miss crowds. The API is documented for other authors.

Balance Options

Tourist, Standard, and Nightmare presets. Nightmare remembers heat across sleep cycles and hardens federal drones. You can disable persistence entirely for classic star decay.

Installation

Lightweight script + data pack. Conflicts with other wanted overhauls. Install one. Verify with the heat debug overlay (dev toggle).

Radio & Flavor

Police scanner lines were rewritten for Leonida departments. Talk radio reacts to city-wide heat spikes with conspiracy nonsense - optional.

Design Notes

HeatMapCollective wanted escapes to feel like reading a map, not waiting out a timer in a bush. If you learn Leonida, you earn the cooldown.

Heat Theory

Heat is a float per district plus a federal accumulator. Stars remain the public UI; the ribbon is the truth. Sleeping in a safehouse scrubs municipal heat faster than federal. Crossing state-equivalent lines (coast to Ambrosia) applies a decay multiplier, not a full reset.

Air response timers shorten if you spend more than twelve seconds above rooftop height - Solar Ascendant players learn this the hard way. Boat escapes add coastal drone pressure after federal unlock.

Escape Drills

Drill A: Vice alley into parking tower into civilian garage scrub. Drill B: Ambrosia dirt cut into barn blind into highway merge. Drill C: Keys mangrove idle with engines off until municipal decays - fails under federal.

Nightmare preset remembers you across rest; Tourist forgets when you change clothes at Wardrobe Remix shops - a silly handshake we love.

Department Fiction

Municipal chatter uses Vice City metro flavor. State troopers sound highway-tired. Federal lines are short and cold. We do not use real agency names. If a bark feels too close to reality, file it - we will euphemize further.

Scanner UI remains optional. Some players want only stars; they can hide the ribbon.

API for Fellow Authors

Export: GetDistrictHeat, GetFederalTier, AddHeatImpulse, IsSafehouseScrubbing. Import expectations documented for Ascendant and Pirate Radio. Poll at 5 Hz max - do not beat our thread.

Version the API. We will not silent-break heat floats after 1.0 without a major bump.
